Work Study
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for a Work-Study position, a student must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), receive a Work-Study award as part of his or her financial aid package, and enroll at least half time. At the undergraduate level, half time is six to 11 credits and at the graduate level, half time is 4 credits.
Finding a Position
Students who receive a College Work-Study award through the Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid can visit Career Services (Room 1001, Faculty Administration Building) to find the listing of CWS jobs. Placement assistance is provided in matching student' interests to jobs.
Students who receive a work study award should keep in mind the following:
- You may work up to 20 hours per week.
- Your supervisor must submit a New Hire Form to Career Services Office, 1001 Faculty/Administration Building, 577-3390.
- You may declare a semester as an “off-semester” during which you may work up to 40 hours per week provided you enroll on a half time basis. To declare an “off-semester,” contact the Career Services Office.
- Allow three to five weeks from the date that you are hired to receive your first paycheck
A work-study award is not an employment guarantee. Carefully read the Student Guide to On-Campus Employment for information and instructions concerning the work-study employment process.
