Accepting Your Award

Award Notifications

First-time Students:
The Office of Student Financial Aid sends award letters via the U.S. Postal Service only to freshmen, transfer students, and graduate students whose plans are to enroll at WSU for the first time. Explanatory information is mailed with the award letters.

Continuing/returning students: Electronic award notifications are sent to continuing and returning students on WSU Pipeline. You will not receive award letters through the mail.

Accepting Your Award
Financial aid awards must be accepted/declined on WSU Pipeline. Pipeline is the secure portal for information and resources at Wayne State University. Pipeline requires an AccessID. Your AccessID and temporary password are mailed to you from the Office of Computing & Information Technology (C&IT) upon application to Wayne State University. Assistance accessing Pipeline is available from C&IT.

How To Accept Your Award(s)

1.  Login to Pipeline at pipeline.wayne.edu,

2.  Enter your WSU AccessID and Password.  (Your AccessID begin with two letters followed by four numbers.)

3.  Click the "Student" tab at the top of the page.

4.  Select "Financial Aid", from teh menu option (left column).

5.  Click "My Award Information"

6.  Click "Award by Aid Year" and select either the "2008-2009" or "2009-2010 award year"

7. Select "Accept Award Offer"

8. Review the awards offered to accept, reduce or decline the awards.

9.  Click "Submit" when finished.

10. Accepting loan awards may require additional steps to secure a timely disbursement of aid.  Remember to check for any outstanding requirements in the Financial Aid section of Pipeline.

Sign Up for Text Messaging

You may sign up to receive text messages from the Financial Aid Office on your cell phone. The WSU Broadcast Messaging Service will also deliver emergency notifications and other university messages. Sign up and set your preferences on Pipeline under the "My Pipeline" tab, under WSU Resources, select Broadcast Messaging. See computing.wayne.edu/messaging for more information.
